Japan has started to train patent examiners in the Philippines in IP practice in the field of mobile technology. Last month saw the first part, a workshop on the examination of mobile communications and computer-related inventions for Philippines IPO patent examiners.
The workshop trained Filipino IP examiners on the rules, regulations, and guidelines implemented by JPO when prosecuting inventions related to software, mobile communications, and computer-related technology. The aim is to help Philippines examiners improve examination expertise and practice in this area.
